Relatives win Hillsboro learned Saturday of the death of a former Hillsboro resident, Mrs. Vern Routh, 56 of Napa, Calif who died Friday night at the Napa Hospital. She had been a victim of arthritis for a number of years and went west in 1939 for the benefit of her health. While she and her husband resided in Hillsboro they were engaged in the bakery business for a number of years. Mrs. Routh is a member of the Fern Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Hillsboro. Mrs. Routh was the former Mabel Lee, daughter of James M. and Mary E. Lee. In May 1920 she was married to Vern Routh who survives. Other survivors are two sisters, Helen Burkett of San Francisco and Mrs. Opal Locke of Crawfordsville; two brothers, William R. Lee of Oakland, Calif and James R. Lee of Crawfordsville. Mrs. Locke left Saturday by plane for Napa to attend the funeral service which was to be held there Monday afternoon. – kbz
