Catlin, Ill.—Reed Harlan Rouse, 75, Catlin, died at 3 p.m. Monday, May 29, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill.
He was born Sept. 30, 1913 in Tompkinsville, Ky., the son of Wolford and Nancy Ellen Rouse. He was married June 29, 1973 in Danville to Mary Elizabeth Allison, who survives.
He worked at Windbreaker. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Legion of the Moose and the Lincoln United Methodist church and the Men’s Club of the church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and held the rank of Seaman First Class.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, David, Danville; three daughters, Rita Curry, Mrs. Dean (Freida) Smiley and Mrs. Earl (Lucy) Setser, all of Danville; one stepson, Louis Burgess Jr., Covington; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) Alden in Texas, and Mrs. Tom (Gayle) Mann, Kingman; four brothers, George, Danville; Raymond, Indianapolis; James W., State Line, and Paul, Hendersonville, Tenn.; two sisters, Ann Williams, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Pearl Kingrey, Summer Shade, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and six step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Hattie, a daughter, a sister and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home with the Rev. William Molloy officiating. Burial was in Sunset memorial Park with military graveside rites.
