Veedersburg—Relatives here have been notified of the tragic death of Mrs. Ruth Rooker, 49, a former resident of Veedersburg, but now of Indianapolis.
Her death occurred Saturday, a few minutes after the car she was driving was struck at the Shelby St. crossing of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The heavy snow is believed to have obscured the crossing warning signal. The car was carried a distance of 180 feet and was demolished.
The deceased was born in Veedersburg, the daughter of William and Gertrude Kell Roberts. Her early life was spent here. She was married to Morris Rooker, who survives, along with two daughters and a son. Also surviving is the father, William Roberts.
Mrs. Geny Simpson, this city, is an aunt of the deceased. Members of the Simpson family will attend the funeral, which will be held at Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon. – thanks so much to S&E
