Cleveland S. Romine, age 82, farmer living northwest of Covington died suddenly from a heart attack at his home Thursday evening, suffered while he was at the barn milking a cow. The verdict of the coroner was that he was seized with a heart attack.
Born in Troy Township, Fountain County Jan 4, 1862, Mr. Romine had spent his lifetime in that community. His parents, Peter and Saphrona Culberton Romine were pioneers of the county.
Mr. Romine was married December 23, 1886 to Hattie A. Vane, of Fountain County. The widow survives, together with six children: four daughters and two sons: Mrs. June Shuff, Hoopeston, Ill; Mrs. Faye Cipiea, Danville, Ill; Mrs. Flossie Crouse of Gessie; Mrs. Flora Ludlow, Veedersburg; James Romine of Danville, Ill and Robert Romine, Bloomington, Ind. There are also 25 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Romine is also survived by one brother, Dan Romine of Perrysville and two sisters, Mrs. Amy Williamson of Williamsport, and Mrs. Daisy Sturat of Veedersburg. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Salem Methodist Church, the Rev. Mr. Hamilton, minister of the church in charge.
