Covington—Kathleen Romack, 1833 Klondike Road, West Lafayette, died 4:52 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette where she had been a patient since April 12. She had been in ill health for 18 months.
She was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Vermillion Co., Ind., the daughter of Willis D. and Ruby Nell Whitesitt Sare. She was married Dec. 21, 1947, to Glenn Romack, who survives.
Also surviving are her parents of Rt. 2, Covington; two sons, Michael Wayne, Monticello; Allen D., at home; two daughters, Mrs. Glenda Kay Straley, Ft. Wayne; Mrs. Jacqueline Dianne Richardson, West Lafayette; four brothers, Paul William Sare, Monticello; Willis D. Sare Jr., Harley B. Sare and Larry Joe Sare, all of Rt. 1, Perrysville; three sisters, Mrs. Mestal Azzara, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Myrtle Dean Long, Greenville, S. C.; Mrs. Velma Rita Allen, Rt. 1, Covington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A 1946 graduate of Perrysville High School, she lived in the Perrysville and Covington areas until 1951 when she moved to the Brookston area. From there she moved to Monticello in 1963 and had resided in West Lafayette since 1969. She was employed at State Farm Mutual Insurance Co. in Lafayette. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and the Wolcott Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. James Tozer officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. – thanks to “S”
