Sorrowful tidings came this morning contained in a dispatch announcing the death of Thomas Marcus ROGERS at St. Petersburg FL. Mr. Rogers was one of Covington's best known citizens and his death has cast a gloom over the community. He had been in poor health for some time and about 3 weeks ago, accompanied by his wife he went to Florida in the hopes that his health might be benefitted by the change of climate. Friends received word form tthe Rogers Family nearly every day and he was reported to be regaining strength and imrpvoing in health. He was suffering from a complicating of diseases but the imediate cause of death is reported as due to urameic poisoning. Thomas Marcus Rogers was born in Ohio 68 years ago. He came to Covington from Farmer City Ill about 1878. He lived in Warren County for a number of years and was successful as a farmer. He quit active farm work about 14 years afo and has since lived a retired life in Covington. He was a prominent member of the Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodge. A widow and two children survive. They are Leroy Rogers of this place and Mrs. Harry McGurk of Terre Haute.
