Clyde Rogers, who has been in training at Camp Taylor for the past several months died Wednesday night of pneumonia following an attack of influenza. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers of Veedersburg. Besides the parents, two sisters survive: Miss Ruby Rogers of Veedersburg and Miss Bertha Rogers, a clerk in a store at Danville. The father left for Louisville Monday and remained at the bedside until the end. Clyde Rogers is the first Veedersburg soldier to die and his death brings sorrow to the entire community. He had many friends and was very popular among the young people here. The remains were brought to his home on Thursday. No funeral arrangements have been made. – kbz
