Covington – Graveside services with the burial of ashes for James E. Roembke, 79, Frederick, MD were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.  He was a former resident of Covington and Hillsboro.  Shelby Funeral Home, Covington was in charge of arrangements. - kbz

James Edward Roembke, 79 of Frederick, MD formerly of Hillsboro died Wednesday Nov 11 in Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walersville, MD.  Mr. Roembke was employed the Indiana State Highway Commission, Link Belt Co, Department of the Navy and the Department of Defense, until he retired in 1977.  Born in Hillsboro, Dec 20, 1918 he graduated from Hillsboro High School.  He studied Civil Engineering at Purdue University and graduated in 1941.  He served in the Navy as an engineering officer aboard the USS Nevada.  

He married Anita June Bilsland Oct 15, 1943 and she survives.  Mr. Roembke was the business administrator of the McLean (VA) Bible Church and VP of business and finance at Calvary Bible College, Kansas City Mo. Surviving with his wife are three daughter, Lianna Roembke of Magdeburg Germany, Mrs. RIchard (D. Joyce) Bademan of Lakeville, Minn and Mrs. Conrad (Barbara) Koch of Avon, Conn; one son, James E. Roembke, Jr of Frederick, MD and one sister, Winifred Briggs of Indianapolis.

Services will be Saturday in Maryland - kbz
