James Parker Roe, 63, precinct committeeman died at 3:15 p.m. Monday Sept 24, 1956 at his home 609 N 2nd St, following an illness of several months. Mr. Roe was born in Attica June 22, 1893. He married Georgia Jenkins Dec 16, 1932 and she survives. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and was prominent in local Democratic politics. Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Lynn at home; two daughters, Mrs. Anita Gaylor of Veedersburg Rt 2 and Mrs. Sara Jane Wisma of Urbana, Ohio. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Funeral Home with Rev. SW Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. – kbz
