VEEDERSBURG -- Charles A. Robinson, 72, sheriff of Fountain County from 1927 until 1931, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. Death was attributed to a heart condition. He had been hospitalized two days. He was a member and past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias and a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge No. 491. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. He also was a Navy veteran of World War I and was a member of the Veterans of World War I and the Covington Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had worked as a farmer most of his life. He was born in Fountain County April 1, 1894, to Willard and Emily Robinson. He graduated from Veedersburg High School. On Nov. 20, 1930, he married Freda Nebeker, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard, and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Marsh of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services and Masonic rites will be at Sever Funeral Home in Veedersburg at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial and full military rites will be at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.   -- typed by Walt W

Charles A. Robinson, age 72, of Veedersburg Rt. 2, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient one day.  Mr. Robinson had been ill several years with a heart condition. He served as sheriff of Fountain County from 1927-31.
He was born April 1, 1894, at Fountain, the son of Willard and Emily Stevenson Robinson. He married Freda Nebeker on Dec. 20, 1930, and she survives.
Mr. Robinson was a Navy veteran of World war I, a chancellor of the Knights of Pythias Lodge, a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge 491, Covington Veterans of Foreign Wars, World War I veterans, and the Sterling Christian Church. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one son, Richard; and one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Marsh of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Saturday at the Sever Mortuary in Veedersburg. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated.  Masonic and military rites were conducted at the graveside in the Rockfield Cemetery, southeast of Veedersburg.  Military rites will be conducted by the VFW.
