Newtown – Relatives have receive word of the death of William S.P. Robins 62 who died in his car on the way from his home in Shawnee, Kan to the Research Hospital following a heart attack. He was born in Spencer, Ia and was chief draftsman for the Kansas City Terminal railway 35 years. He was a civil engineer on the first graduates of Newtown high school, a graduate of Purdue University and a member of the Triangle Engineering fraternity and Scabbard and Blade club. With Robins when he died was a nurse and his wife, the later being executive director of the Florence Crittenton maternity home. He had telephoned his wife earlier that he had suffered a heart attack. She then had driven home from her office to take him to the hospital. He was the son of William Robins and the family resided here for many years when his father owned and operated the Newtown Drug Store. Besides his widow who was formerly Miss Marguerite Claypool, daughter of a Newtown Methodist minister, he is survived by a son, Dr. William Robins of Carrollton, Mo; a daughter, Mrs. Larry D. Wertenburger of Independence, IA; a brother, Dr. Kenneth Robins of Edson, Albert, Canada and a sister, Mrs. R.L. Parnell of Hillsboro. Burial was in Shawnee, Kas. ---transcribed by kbz
