Mrs. Ollie H. Roberts, 80, former resident of Pence died at the Vermilion Nursing Home in Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there three years. Born near Pence in Warren County, Dec. 2, 1891, she was the daughter of Charles and Cynthia Renville. She was married to Elmer E. Roberts Oct. 16, 1910, in St. Joseph, Mich. He died in 1960. He was a blacksmith at Pence for many years. Mrs. Roberts, who had resided at Pence for several years and was a resident of Warren County all her life, was a news reporter for the Review-Republican, Williamsport newspaper, for several years and also operated Ollie's Gift Shop in her home. She was a member of the Pence Methodist Church and was an active member of the WSCS, the Royal Neighbors for over 50 years, and American War Mothers. Survivors include a son, Clair R. of Danville, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Pauline McNett of Kankakee, Ill.; a granddaughter, Mrs. William (Pat) Wolsieffer of Lafayette; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jay E. of Lafayette, in March, 1972, and a grandson, Lt. James E. Roberts, who was killed in the service in 1957. Services will be at the Pence Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial will be in Jordan cemetery, with Fisher Funeral Home in charge. The body will be taken to the church an hour before the services. --waw
