VEEDERSBURG — Amanda J. Roberts,
77, Veedersburg, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at her daughter's
residence in Columbus. She was born Oct. 20, 1930 in Morehead, Ky., the
daughter of Robert and Belle (Caudilla) Hicks. She married Allie Roberts March
27, 1948 in Morehead, Ky. He preceded in death Nov. 19, 2000. She was
previously employed at Metalcraft in Crawfordsville and Olin/Flexel in
Covington. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Covington; Order of
Eastern Star, and enjoyed the time she spent with her many friends at the
Covington Senior Center. Survivors include: a son, David (Cindy) Roberts,
Lafayette; three daughters, Kathy (Ron) Schaeffer, Columbus, Shirley McPherson,
Fort Worth, Texas, and Wanda (Mike) Marchini, Prunedale, Calif.; eight
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a
daughter, Barbara Ann Roberts; six brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services
were at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church, Covington, with Pastor Troy
Harkey and the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery,
Covington. Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church or
the Covington Senior Center. – jlr
