ROBERTS, Ada Orahood - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

VEEDERSBURG, Ind — Mrs. Ada G. Roberts, 95, of 418 E. Third, Mt. Carmel, Ill., died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday (March 24, 1974) at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel. A former resident of Fountain County, she had been residing at the home of her daughter for the past year. Born Jan. 6, 1879, near Covington, she was the daughter of George W. and Maggie Fox Orahood. She was first married to William E. Simmons, who died in 1897. Her second marriage was to William E. Dodson, who died in the early 1900s. In 1922, she was married to H. A. Roberts, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church for 45 years. She was a member of the EUB Church in Mt. Carmel for the past few years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edithe Howerton of Mt. Carmel; a son, Emmett Dodson of Veedersburg; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Ethel) Minnick; and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fishero-Dickerson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.   --waw
