Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Virgil Robbins, 74, football and track coach at Attica High School 1926-31 and later coach Brock, Mt. Ayr, and Kentland football and basketball teams died Sunday Feb. 8, 1976 in Fair Oaks Nursing Home at Greenville, Ill. Mr. Robbins graduate of Wingate High Sch., attended Wabash College before coaching at Mt. Vernon, Ind. High School. Robbins came to Attica as football, b-basketball coach in the fall of 1926 and remained for five years before moving to Brock as head basketball coach. Mr. Robbins finished his coaching as track coach at St. Joseph's College in the 1960's. A native of Kentucky, Mr. Robbins moved to Florida after retiring and lived there four years before entering the nursing home a year ago. He was first married in 1924 to Gertrude Thompson, who died in 1961. His second marriage was in 1963 to Lucy Smith and she died in 1975. He was a member of Brock United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 670. Surviving are a daughter Virginia Egly of Greenville, Ill.; and three brothers, A. C. Robbins of Worthington, Ohio, J. Marion Robbins of Escondido, Calif., and Wiley Robbins of Wingate.   --waw
