ROBBINS, Gilbert L. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

  Gilbert L. Robbins of Covington, age 76, died Friday morning, April 1, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Scottsburg, August 30, 1906, the son of Gilbert and Nora Belle Hall Robbins. May 25, 1927, he married Louise Mears. Robbins worked as a truck driver. He lived at Veedersburg for 20 years and at Covington for five.

  Survivors include four daughters, Marjorie Ligsdon of Corona, California, Nora May Fletcher of Veedersburg, Mary Lou Speegle of Leesburg, Florida, and Pam Robbins of Columbus, Ohio; five sons, Lloyd of Covington, Earl of Veedersburg, Jack of Leesburg, Robbie of Columbus, and Joe of Corona; three brothers, Joseph of Danville, Henry of Venice, Florida, and Harold; 35 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Rev. Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. – thanks to S
