ATTICA — Harry Ritchie, 91, 407 N. Perry St., Attica, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000 at his residence. He was born Sept. 13, 1908 in Divernon, Ill., the son of William and Bessie Jones Ritchie. He married Edna Lamme Aug. 25, 1928 in Attica. She preceded in death Nov. 26, 1984. He attended school in Divernon. He had lived all of his married life in Attica and had wintered in Floral City, Fla. for the past several years. He worked as a signalman for Wabash Railroad and later for Norfolk and Western Railroad from 1926 until his retirement in 1972. He was a 50-year member of Wabash Lodge #708 F. & A.M. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Ellen Thayer, Indianapolis and Betty Jo (Malcolm) Peek, Wanathan; a brother, William Ritchie, Decatur, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Masonic gravesite services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home or the Shriners Children's Hospital. – jlr
