Mellott - -Stephen A. Riley, 79, a Mellott area farmer for 47 years, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Iriquois County, Ill., Hospital. Mr. Riley was a World War I veteran and was a member of the Charles Forrest American Legion Post at Veedersburg. He was a native of Silverwood, Ind., born Sept. 29, 1890, a son of James and Charlotte Randolph Riley. He was first married in Milford, Ill., to Gladys Wood. She died in 1967, and he was later married to Pearl Light. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Frank Reetz of Milford, Mrs. Jennie Geiken of Hoopeston, Ill., and Miss Goldie Riley of San Diego, and two brothers, Roy of Hoopeston and Clyde of Watseka, Ill. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Milford Christian Church with Rev. Roy Williams officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery near Milford. Friends may call at Baker Funeral Home in Milford.
