Franklin M. Riley, 60, a former Crawfordsville resident died at 1:40 p.m. Friday in Home Hospital at Lafayette after an illness of 3 months. He had also resided at Veedersburg, Thorntown and Danville before moving to Frankfort in 1960 whee he lived until his death. He was born Jan 3, 1910 at Veedersburg, a son of Franklin marion and Ethel Melinda Pritchard Riley. On June 20, 1931 he wa smarried to Vera Geraldine Abernathy, who survives. He was a brakeman and conductor on the Norfolk & Western Railroad and was a member of United Transportation Union. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include four sons, Harold I. and Paul R, Larry R and Ronald L; five daughters, Mrs. Betty L. Clodfelter; Mrs. Sulvia (sic) M. Pritchard; Mrs. Beverly Vansickle; Mrs. Pauline K. Gates and Mrs. Peggy D. Davis; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Abernathy; two brothers, Walter E. Riley and Curtis Riley and 16 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.. Sunday at Eller Funeral Chapel at Frankfort with Rev. William Luttrell officiating. Burial will be in Kilmore Cemetery.
