RIESTER, Joseph

Joseph Riester, age 90, long a resident of the Mellott community, died at 4:45 o'clock Friday afternoon at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville following an illness of six weeks due to senility. Born on Feb 13, 1854, Mr. Reister was the son of Seletine and Christine Fund Riester. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Stephens on Nov 23, 1879.
He was a member of the Green Bay United Brethren Church north of Newtown. Three children, 12 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren survive. Children surviving are: Mrs. Albert Miles of Waynetown, Rt 2; Mrs. Alice RIce of Mellott and Mrs. Jenkins of Indianapolis.
Funeral services were conducted at the North Christian Church in Mellott at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. John R. Servies of Crawfordsville. Burial was made in the Old Baptist Cemetery west of
