RICKS, William - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

The body of William Ricks who died Friday Sept 8 at Camp Kearney, Calif arrived at Veedersburg Wednesday evening last week and was taken to Parham Undertaking establishment. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ricks have been dead several years and are buried in Waynetown.  After a brief service the son’s body was laid beside his parents last Thursday morning. The family formerly resided across the Wabash not far from Covington. Mrs. Fred Volmer of Veedersburg is an aunt of the dead man.  Mr. Ricks had been ill with tuberculosis for many months. Although only 19 years old at the time of his death he had enlisted in the US Army more than three years ago.
