GEORGE RICKETTS, son of William and Abigal Ricketts, was born Feb. 23, 1832, departed this life Feb. 10, 1914 at the home of his niece Mrs. Thomas Abernathey, aged 81 years, 11 months and 17 days.He was united in marriage to Rebecca Hack in 1856. To this union was born one son, Wm. Ricketts, of Cates, Ind. His wife preceded him in death in 1887. Soon after his marriage he united with the Christian church. He was an honest and upright man, and was well-respected in the community in which he lived. He was afflicted for several years and bore his suffering without a murmur. He leaves a son, six grandchildren and many relatives and friends to mourn his departure. Short services were held at the residence, conducted by Bro. B. F. Dotson, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cooper cemetery. -S
