Manford A. Richardson, son of Riley and Mary Jane Richardson, was born in Fulton Township, March 27th 1864, and died Oct 1 1927, age 63 years 6 months and 4 days. He has always been a resident of the community of Coal Creek.
He was converted in a revival meeting held at Burnsides chapel. He was elected a member of the board of trustees of Coal Creek Chapel about eight years ago. He was united in marriage to Myrta R. Noel Sept 28 1890. To this union were born nine children, three of which have preceded him in death. He leaves the wife, four daughters and two sons, namely Iza Harmon of Villa Grove, Ill., Faye Holland of Silverwood, Ind, Fern Jones, Kingman Ind ., Kenneth, Lynn and Lois at home, one brother Isaac Richardson of Silverwood Ind. and one sister, Phoebe Orahood, of Veedersburg Ind. and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
Source: same paper 10-7-1927 - The funeral of Manford Richardson, deceased Fulton township resident, was held at the family residence south of Covington Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. r oy E. Laswell, United Brethren minister, residing at Cates. interment was at Coal Creek Chapel cemetery, near Snoddy's Mill. Mr. Richardson was 63 years old, having been born near his present residence March 27 1864. He was a son of Riley Richardson and Mary Ramage Richardson, and lived all of his life in Fulton township, farming and following the trade of contracting carpenter. He died Sunday evening at his residence, after an illness of several months from cancer. – thanks to Betty D.
