Russell L. (Rusty) Richardson, 18, of Rt. 2, Attica (Riverside), was fatally injured in a car-train accident at the railroad crossing at Riverside near his home at 12:05 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 1978.
He was born at Crawfordsville on January 22, 1960, had formerly lived at Crawfordsville and Veedersburg, and had been a resident of Attica area since 1971. He was a 1978 mid-term graduate of Attica High School.
He had been employed at Radio Materials Corp. as a spray dryer since September. He was a member of Future Farmers of America.
Surviving is his mother, Mrs. Frank (Joyce) Rainey Turpin and stepfather, Frank Turpin of Rt. 2, Attica; two brothers, Randy Lynn Richardson and Trevor Franklin Turpin; one sister, Travis P. Turpin, all at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucille Rainey of Crawfordsville and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Maus Funeral Home in Attica from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services are at the Maus Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica.
