Fred Owen Richardson, age 64 of 516 W. State St., Veedersburg, died at 5 a. m. Saturday, July 28, at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was taken after suffering a heart attack at the I. K. C. Motor Express terminal in Indianapolis, where he worked. A life resident of Fountain County, he had served as a Mobile Oil distributor in the southern part of the county for 11 years, and later managed the Mobile Station in Veedersburg. Mr. Richardson had been employed by the trucking firm in Indianapolis since 1958. Born Oct. 2, 1897, he was the son of Manly and Nellie Hardesty Richardson. He was married July 16, 1929, to the former Madeline Allen. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 135 of Indianapolis. Surviving are: his father of Covington Rt. 1; his wife; a son, Dale of Kingman Rt. 2; three sisters, Miss Grace Richardson and Miss Madge Richardson of Covington Rt. 1, and Mrs. Lewis (Merle) Patton of Veedersburg Rt. 3; a brother, Lewis of Kingman Rt. 2; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant brother. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Burial was in Mt. Funeral services for Fred Owen Richardson, 64 years old, Veedersburg were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. Mr. Richardson, a Fountain County native died late Saturday in Methodist Hospital of a heart attack suffered Friday while working at the IKC Motor Express Company in Indianapolis. Mr. Richardson formerly had operated the Mobil Oil Company bulk plant in Veedersburg for 11 years before going to work at the Indianapolis freight firm in 1958. Born Oct 2, 1897, he was the son of Manly and Nellie Hardest Richardson. He was married July 16, 1929 to the former Madeline Allen. He was a member of Teamsters Union, Local 135 of Indianapolis.
