RICH, Mary - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Saunemin – Mrs. Mary Rich died at 2:20 a.m. Thursday at St. James Hospital, Pontiac. Three weeks ago she fractured her hip in a fall and on Sunday she suffered a stroke of apoplexy. She was born Jan 16, 1855 in Fountain County, Indiana the daughter of Robert and Lucy Spafford. At the age of two years, she came with her parents to Ford County, Illinois, later moving to Avoca Township in Livingston County. Since 1858 she had resided here. On Dec 25, 1879, she was married to Jeffry A. Rich at Saunemin.  Surviving are the husband and two sons, Thomas J.  of Kempton and George of Saunemin.  A brother, Thomas L. Spafford, resides in Pontiac. Mrs. Rich was a member of the Methodist Church were the funeral will be held at  2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. TL Kneebone will officiate and burial will be made in Sunnyslope cemetery.
