RICE, Johnathan (John) - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Relatives and friends at Mellott have been notified of the death of John Rice, 81, a former resident of that community. He died Thursday morning Sept 29 at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He was born north of Mellott and spent the early part of his life in the vicinity. He had been a resident of Linden for the past 43 years. On Sept 2, 1880, he married Mary Kite He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Stephenson and Mrs. Isaac Montgomery, both of New Richmond and Mrs .E.A. Beach of Crawfordsville. Funeral services were held at the family residence on Saturday afternoon, with the Rev A.E. Northrup in charge. Burial was in Linden Cemetery.
