Hazel Rice, 75, of 600 N. 6th, Attica, died Saturday (June 12, 1976) at the Woodland Manor Nursing Home where she had been residing for three weeks. She had been ill several years. She was born in Veedersburg on Oct. 13, 1900 to Thomas Jefferson and Rebecca Kathryn Nelson Lashbrook. She was married to Cecil Clarence Rice on Sept. 6, 1918 in Covington. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Cecil Clarence Rice Jr. of Attica; four brothers, Truman Lashbrook of Brazil, Willis L. of Carbon, Ind., Lawrence L. of Battle Ground, Ind., and Garner L. of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Edan Blankenship of Placenta, Calif., three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one sister and one granddaughter. She was a member of the Attica Free Methodist Church. Services at the Maus Funeral Home in Attica with the Rev. Melvin Nead officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. --typed by Walt W
