RHODES, Joe F. - WWI

Covington—Joe F. Rhodes, 80, of Covington, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday (June 4, 1975) in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville. He had been ill several years and in the hospital since May 16.
  Born December 24, 1894, in Wabash Township, he was the son of Samuel E. and Julia Hathaway Rhodes.
  He was a veteran of the World War I Army Motorcycle Corps.
  Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Guy (Daisy) Faust of Covington, and a brother, Clint of Covington Route 1; and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by two sisters.
  He was retired after having worked as a chauffeur in California.
  Services were held at the DeVerter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday (June 7, 1975) with the Rev. James Daniels officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. --s
