Ernest T. Rhodes, 80, of 21 S. Griffin, died at 4:45 p.m. yesterday (Oct. 5, 1967) in Lake View Memorial where he had been a patient one day. He had resided at the Griffin address 20 years. Born Feb. 15, 1887, in Warren County, Ind., he was a son of Cornelius and Martha Dunkerly Rhodes. He was a former blacksmith for the Chicago Parks Department and a former motorman for the Danville City Lines. He was married in June of 1927 to Nellie Seals who survives. Also surviving are a son, Herman Eugene of Libertyville; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Freese of Danville and Mrs. Pearl Lucas of Gary, Ind.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Mr. Rhodes was a member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge 38 and the Blacksmiths Local of Chicago. He attended the First Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Oliver Starn will officiate. Friends will be received at the funeral home 6-9 tonight. Masonic services will be by Olive Branch Lodge at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosville Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
