Albert W. Rhodes, 88, of 111 N. State, died at 3:45 a.m. today (March 7, 1967) at Lake View Memorial where he had been a patient 18 days. He had been ill several months. Born June 3, 1878, near Covington, Ind., he was a son of Cornelius and Martha Dunkerly Rhodes. His schooling was at Perrysville, Ind., after which he farmed several years. He then moved to Danville and was employed as a millwright, at the Allith Corp. for 49 years before retiring in 1957. He was married in Covington to Cora Jane Welch who preceded him in death. Surviving from this marriage are a son, Harold A. Rhodes of Veedersburg, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Helen) Catlett of Fairmount; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Freese of Danville and Mrs. Pearl Lucas of Gary, Ind., and a brother, Ernest T. Rhodes of Danville. He was later married to Cora Pettit in Danville. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son and a brother. Mr. Rhodes was a former member of the IOOF Lodge. Friends will be received at the Pape Memorial Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are incomplete. The Rev. Eldon Gourley will officiate with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Services for Albert W. Rhodes, 88, of 111 N. State, who died early yesterday in Lake View Memorial, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pape Memorial Home. The Rev.
