James K. Rhode, a well known farmer of Warren County died last Thursday morning about 7:30 o’clock at his home at Chatterton, following an illness covering a period of about three years. About two years ago he underwent a surgical operation at the Mayo Bros. Institute at Rochester, Minn for kidney and bladder trouble but at that time they found the disease of a malignant character and announced to the relatives of the patient that the operation would not result in a cure but would prolong his life for a time. Besides the wife he is survived by three children: Mrs. Lary Ritenour who resides near Lafayette, Mrs. Anna Hall who resides near Pine Village and Seymour Rhode who resides on the old home place near Chatterton. The funeral was conducted from the home at 10 o’clock Saturday forenoon and burial was made in the Quaker cemetery near Chatterton.
