Ladoga, Dec. 6 -- John Rettinger, 80 years of age, died at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. Rosa Rogers north. of Ladoga on Sunday. He had been
suffering with complication of diseases for several years and had been
confined to his bed for the past 7 months. Mr. Rettinger was born in
Roanoake County, VA on Nov 1, 1846. He was the son of Samuel & Ruth
Rettinger and was one of six children. He came to IN with his parents
when he was 20 years of age and the remainder of his life was spent in
the vicinities of Ladoga, Darlington and Veedersburg. In 1871 he was
married to Salome Miller who died in 1913. There were four children. Mr.
Rettinger was a faithful member of the Dunkard Church. He is survived by
two daughters, Mrs. Rosa Rogers of Ladoga and Mrs. Edith Smith of
Veedersburg and two sons, Earl of Jonesburg and John of Darlington. A
brother, a sister, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also
survive. The funeral will be held from the Bethel Church near Ladoga,
Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. EN Goshorn.
