PERRYSVILLE — George Franklin Rentz, 86, died quietly at his home in Perrysville, Monday afternoon March 27, 2000. He was born April 2, 1913 in Rawley, Iowa, the son of George and Ruth Nabors Rentz. He married Marie Voigt June 20, 1935 in Ladysmith, Wis. She preceded in death March 25, 1999. He lived in Wisconsin and began school at North Lima one room school, then attended Rabb and Foster Elementary Schools in Indiana, graduating from Covington High School in 1930. He returned to Indiana and worked for Armour Morgan, Pawley Lumber Company, and managed the Cedar Lake Lumber Co. in Cayuga until his 1978 retirement. He was a member and trustee of Perrysville United Methodist Church, charter member of Perrysville Lions Club, member and past master of Unity Lodge #344 F. & A.M. in Perrysville, Scottish Rite A ASR in Danville, Ill., Vermillion Low 12 Club, Past Masters Association, past secretary of Hicks Cemetery Board, Perrysville Chapter #302 O.E.S., Highland Township Advisory Board, and had served on the Collett Home Board. Survivors include: two daughters, Dolores (John) Brown, Perrysville and Evelyn (Stuart) Henrickson, Alexandria, Minn.; a sister, Vera Lee (Oliver) Strange, South Bend; three grandchildren, Rick (Amanda) Brown, Gahanna, Ohio, Donna (Robert) Veatch, Madison, Wis., Maria Renollett, Bemidji, Minn.; and two great-grandsons, Scott Brown and Branden Diveskovy. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl and Donald; and a sister, Veeda Hayes. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Perrysville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Platt officiating. Burial was in Hicks Cemetery. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Perrysville United Methodist Church. – jlr
