RENNISON, Alfred

Alfred Rennison, age 57, owner and operator of the Sunny Inn Cafe and service station on U.S. 41 near Veedersburg 20 years, died unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at his home in Veedersburg. Mr. Rennison was born Feb. 3, 1909 in Pickneyville, Ill., the son of John and Irene Wilson Rennison. He was married on May 6, 1942 to Edna Sprouls, who survives. Mr. Rennison had just recently completed remodeling of his business establishment. He was a member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge at Pinckneyville. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine. He served during World War II with the Coast Guard. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: two children, John and Nancy, both at home; six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Shute, Mrs. Ernestine Crain, Mrs. Dorothy Cavanaugh, Mrs. Doris Loos, Mrs. Helen Mathis and Mrs. Maxine Lunn, all of Pinckneyville. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wilson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the EUB Church at Stone Bluff. The Rev. Conley Rowland officiated. Burial, with the Sever Mortuary of Veedersburg in charge, was in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery, northeast of Covington. Masonic rites were conducted at the funeral home Sunday night. – jlr
