Funeral services for Mrs. Everett (Rose Anna) Remster, age 77, of Villard, Minn., a former resident of the Foster community, were held at the Villard Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Nov. 17, with the Rev. Don Haarup officiating. Mrs. Rose Anna Gouty Remster was born Feb. 21, 1884 on a farm in Vermillion County, near Gessie, the daughter of Joseph and Louella Gouty. The Gouty family moved to a farm two miles northwest of Foster in March 1893. She was married Dec. 15, 1906 to Everett W. Remster, who survives. She and her husband moved to Villard in 1911 and have resided there since. She was a licensed maternity and infancy nurse and practiced a great deal in the Villard area. While in Indiana, she was a member of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church and later was a member of the Villard Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the WSCS. In May, of this year, she was elected an honorary steward of her church. She was a Past Matron and held other offices in the Rosalie Chapter No. 189, Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a member since 1917. She was a former member of the Priscilla Art Club and was active in other community affairs. Mrs. Remster died at her home in Villard on Tuesday, Nov. 14, after a lingering illness. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: one son, Raymond, of Devils Lake, N. D.; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; twin sisters, Miss Inez Gouty of Covington Rt. 2 and Mrs. Ida Saltsgaver of Hillsboro; and one brother, Roy Leslie Gouty, of Covington. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Everett, Robert and Ezra Gouty. Friends and relatives attending the funeral from a distance were from Devils Lake, N. D., Waterloo, Ia., Valparaiso, Ind., Minneapolis, Faribault, Silver Lake, Morris, Hancock, Glenwood, Alexandria, Brooten and Osakis, Minn. -- typed by Walt W
