COVINGTON – Wilmer T. Reiff, age 71, of Deputy, Ind., a former resident of the Covington community, died Tuesday, March 26, at the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis. A retired farmer, he also had worked as a truck driver and at the Jefferson Proving Ground. He was serving as Justice of the Peace in Jefferson County at the time of his death. He was a member of the Deputy Methodist Church. Survivors include: his widow, Elizabeth May; his mother, Mrs. Luella Reiff of North Vernon; two sons, John and Carl, both of Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Baxter of Deputy and Miss Irene Reiff of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Ben Reiff of Covington Rural Route.; three sisters, Mrs. Hope Kirkham of North Vernon, Mrs. Ethel Crumley of Evansville and Mrs. Mary Gilmer of Carrollton, Texas, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother George. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Lytle Mortuary in Deputy. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery there.   – jlr
