Mrs. Marie Evelyn Shoaf Reichard, 72, 310 south Grove street, Urbana, Ill., died at 4:15 p.m. Monday at Carle hospital, following an illness due to a stroke of paralysis. she was the widow of John Reichard who died February 8. Mrs. Reichard had been a patient at the hospital since Friday, October 4. The body was removed to the Renner funeral home. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, from the Congregational-Christian church in which she was active. the pastor, Rev. E. A. Watkins, officiated. Hope chapter, No. 104, Order of Eastern Star, was in charge of the services at the church and the Urbana Pythian sisters lodge at the grave in Woodlawn Cemetery. Members of the Urbana Royal Neighbors lodge served as flower bearers. Members of Urbana conclave, 15, Order of True Kindred, attended memorial services for the deceased at the Renner funeral home at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. Mrs. Reichard was born March 6 1868, in Wallace, Ind., the daughter of the late David and Ellen Shoaf. She grew to womanhood there and married John Reichard on April 15 1886. They afterwards resided at Yeddo and Veedersburg and moved to Urbana in 1910, where they resided until their death. Mr. Reichard spent his business life in the grain business. Mrs. Reichard is survived by the following children: Sylvester Reichard; Mrs. Della Green; Mrs. Ura Colbert; David, Arista and Cecil Reichard. There are also 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides her church affiliation, Mrs. Reichard was active in the eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, Royal Neighbors, True Kindred, Unity Club of the Eastern Star lodge, all of Urbana. She had but recently joined the Urbana Rebekah lodge.
