John Reichard, 75 year old groceryman died at 6 p.m.  Tues in Culver Hospital where he was a patient only a day.  He conducted a grocery adjoining his home at 703 Liberty Street with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson.  Born near Wallace in Fountain County he was married to Effie Mae Cooper at Mellott in 1904.  They lived at Mellott where Mr. Reichard was manager of the Young Lumber Company.  Later, he went into the grocery business of Mellott but moved to Crawfordsville in 1918 and was employed in the city light plant until going into the grocery business here.  Mrs. Reichard died in 1950. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Survivors besides Mrs. Ferguson are two other daughters, Mrs. Oliver McLoed, New Ross and Mrs. Wallace Peebles, Darlington; three sons, Kenneth and Keith of Crawfordsville and Duane of Indiana University; a brother, Alva Reichard of Mellott and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Wilson and Mrs. Ernest Miles both of Logansport.
