Jimmie Lee Reffett, 60, of
Covington, formerly of Cayuga, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 1999 at
Union Hospital, Terre Haute. Born May 29, 1938 in Danville, Ill., he was the
son of James M. and Lily (Coseboone) Reffett. He married Carolyn Ellis on May
17, 1980, in Danville, Ill. She survives. Also surviving, are: two daughters,
Lori (Steve) Galyen of Georgetown, Ill. and Cheryl (Steve) Cruse of Perrysville;
his mother, Lily (Bob) Nevels of Westville, Ill.; three granddaughters,
Britney, Tosha, and Samantha; two grandsons, Scott and Montana; two brothers,
Ronald (Sonny) Reffett and John Nevels, both of Westville; two sisters, Susie
(Mike) Cadle of Westville and Vickie (Greg) Black of Danville; and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers and
two sisters. Jimmie retired in 1994 as a water treatment operator for Consumers
Illinois Water Co. in Danville. He attended the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church,
south of Covington. He loved camping, fishing, playing music and spending time
with his family. Visitation was Wednesday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home,
Cayuga. Service there at 1 p.m. Thursday with Gene Hopper officiating. Interment
in Thomas Cemetery, Newport. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer
