Former sheriff of Fountain County, William L. Reeves, 77, a resident of Bloomington, Indiana, for a number of years, died at the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis, Friday morning, May 12. He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Tuesday. Mr. Reeves had been advertising manager for the Indiana Daily Student of Bloomington for the past 35 years, and prior to that time had resided in Fountain County.
He was the son of Samuel and Harriet Reeves, and was born in Newtown on October 28, 1866. He was married to Nora Beckley of Newtown in June 1899. The widow and one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Jackson of Bloomington and a grandson, Phillip Jackson of Indianapolis survive.
Funeral services was held at the Methodist Church in Bloomington at 2:30 Monday afternoon with burial in Bloomington cemetery. --- transcribed by kbz

Will L. Reeves, age 77, passed away at 8:30 Friday morning in the Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis. He worked all day Tuesday in his office at Indiana University at Bloomington, where he had been advertising manager for the Indiana Daily Student for 35 years. Tuesday night he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was taken to the Robert Long Hospital Wednesday. The son of Samuel and Harriet Reeves, he was born October 28, 1866 in Newtown. In June 1899 he was married to Nora Beckley in Newtown. They left Fountain County 40 years ago after the conclusion of his term of Sheriff of Fountain County, he having been elected on the Democrat ticket. Previous to his term as sheriff he served as deputy sheriff of Fountain County. Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Jackson of Bloomington, and a grandson, Phillip Jackson of Indianapolis. Mrs. Hattie Smith of Newton (*Newtown?) is a niece. - S
