Kingman - Miss Anna S. Rees, age 89, of Cates, died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 2, at the Vermilion County Hospital in Clinton where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Miss Rees was born July 7, 1878 near St. Joseph, Ill., the daughter of Isaac and Arminta Mills Rees. She spent most of her life in Vermilion Grove, Iii., and was active in the Friends Church. She also worked as a practical nurse in Florida.
In recent years, Miss Rees had lived with her niece, Mrs. Alice Majors at Cates, until she moved to the Friendship Nursing Home in Bloomingdale, becaude of ill health. She was the last of her family and her only survivors are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. The Rev. Nelson Vance ot Cates officiated. Burial was in the Vermilion Grove Cemetery at Vermilion Grove, Ill.
