Veedersburg - Woodson "Woody" Brown Reed, 81, Veedersburg died at 9:08 pm. Tuesday May 30, 2000 in Provena USMC Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. Born June 3, 1918 Shelby Co Ky, son of George and Mattie Lee Glover Reed. His first marriage to Delcy Shelbourne ended in divorce. His second marriage was to Bette Ruth Francis Nov 3, 1956 in Westville, Ill who survives. He worked as a stuntman in western movies in the 1950s on location in Nev, Az, Calif & Utah, performed in "The Conquerors, Drumbeat and Ten Wanted Men. He worked as a double for movie stars, Richard Boone & Skip Homeier - later moved to Indianapolis and worked as a car salesman for McGee Motors. Retired from indianapolis Metrhopolitan School Districts. Avid Cols/pacers fan. In HS he was very athletic and excelled in broad jump, winning the prize for Shelby County broad jump. Survivors besides wife a son Jerry (Deena) Reed, Louisville, Ky a daughter, Loretta (Bill) Bradley, Zenia, Ill; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, special nieces, Georgia Hochstrasser, Louise Long, Edna Zaring and Penny Schmit; special nephews, Harvey Lee Stucker, Marvin Bowles & Eddie Bowles and special friends, Maxine Fultz and Joan Rogers. Prec by son, Randall; two brothers and 3 sisters, Funeral serv were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg with Rev. Edward Retter officiating.
