VEEDERSBURG — Rev. Forrest A. Reed, 64, retired Evangelical United Brethren minister, died Friday night at Marion, Ind., following a stroke. He was a native of Veedersburg and had been pastor of a number of Indiana churches. Rev. Reed first suffered a stroke in May and was retired at that time. His last pastorate was at Noblesville. Born Sept. 3, 1893, in Fountain County, Rev. Reed was the son of Benjamin S. and Margaret Zeigler Reed. He attended the Veedersburg schools and was graduated from high school here. He later attended several religious schools. His marriage to Margaret Parson of Indianapolis took place Dec. 11, 1923. Rev. Reed was a veteran of World War I and had nearly four years' service in the U.S. Army. The survivors include the wife; three daughters, Mrs. Marian Foreman and Mrs. Ruth Switzer, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Lorene Terrell of Indianapolis; two sons, Byron Reed of Columbus, Ind., and John Reed of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Hanger of Indianapolis and Mrs. Alma Furr of Veedersburg, and two brothers, Mack Reed of Indianapolis and John Reed of Veedersburg. Another son, Roland, died at the age of three years. Brief funeral services will be held at the Ravens Funeral Home in Marion at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with Dr. Robert Keonig in charge. The body will then be brought to Veedersburg. Friends may pay their respects at the Fishero Funeral Home from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the Veedersburg EUB Church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Dr. K. K. Merryman of Indianapolis, EUB district superintendent, will be in charge.
