WINGATE----Clarence Wolford “Charlie” Reed, 64, a businessman here the past 16 years, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been seriously ill a month. Mr. Reed owned and operated Reed's Sundries here. Previously he worked with his father at farming and in the grocery business at Dana. He was a charter member of the Wabash Valley Gun Collectors' Club and the Muzzle Loaders' Club at Friendship, Ind. He was born July 3, 1903, in Linton, a son of Dave and Jennie May Wolford Reed. He was married to Helen Grace Igo Sept. 26, 1932, in Rockford. Mr. Reed was educated in Linton and Kokomo before graduating from Dana High School. Surviving are the widow; his parents; two brothers, Ralph of Dana and Harold of LaPorte; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Victors of Hammond and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Interment will be in Helts Prairie Cemetery north of Clinton where graveside rites are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.   --typed by Walt W

WINGATE — Funeral services for Clarence W. Reed were held Friday morning at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Ministers were Rev. Rob R. James of Michigantown and Rev. G.S. Comrie of Wingate. Organ music by Mrs. Estel Cheek included special requests "God Will Take Care of You," "Beyond the Sunset" and "In The Garden." Pallbearers, who also cared for the flowers, were James Robinson, Harold Oxley, Alfred Harmon, William Marquess, Alton Haas Jr., Roy Eddie Neff, Ben Kennedy and John Steel. Interment was in Helts Prairie Cemetery north of Clinton where graveside rites were held in the afternoon.   --typed by Walt W
