Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Veedersburg--Charles Reed, 67 years old, died suddenly Sunday afternoon while walking on a sidewalk in downtown Danville, Ill. John Cole, Vermilion county (Ill.) coroner, attributed death to a heart attack. A lifelong resident of the Veedersburg vicinity, Mr. Reed had gone to Danville at noon Sunday. Danville police spent some time trying to revive him, to no avail. Mr. Reed was the son of Joe and Caroline Riggle Reed. He was married twice and preceded in death by both wives. His first wife was Ada Taylor. After her death he married Edith Bell. He was a veteran of World War I. The only survivors are two daughters, Miss Ollie Reed, Fort Wayne, and Miss Mable Reed, Frankfort, and a step-brother, William Cole, Veedersburg. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but friends may pay their respects at the Fishero funeral home in Veedersburg.   --typed by Walt W
