Mrs. Margaret Jane Read, age 43, resident of Williamsport Rt. 2, died at: 2:30 a. m. Tuesday, June 10, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, were she had been a patient since 10:30 a. m. the day before. Death was attributed to injuries suffered in an automobile accident Monday. The accident occurred at South and Buchanan Streets in Danville when the Read car, in which Mrs. Read was riding with her husband, Clarence E. Read, age 64, collided with a vehicle driven by Hobart T. Reedy, age 52, of Danville. The Read car was eastbound on South Street and Reedy was northbound on Buchanan. The front of the Reedy auto and the right side of the Read car were damaged. Mrs. Read was taken to the hospital where it was reported she had suffered injuries to her knees. She had been under a physician's care, according to officers who investigated. An autopsy was performed but no report is available. An inquest has been scheduled for 7 o'clock tonight, June 12, by Coroner Don C. Goodwin of Vermilion County, Ill. The deceased was born Sept. 13, 1914 in Sullivan, Ill., the daughter of John and Venna Crum Bush. She was married June 19, 1948 to Clarence E. Read, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are: three sons, Clarence James Read and Denton Emory, both at home, and Keith Emory, Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Kargol of Chicago; one brother, Hubert Bush of Oakwood, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Daisy G…. of Lafayette; two half sisters, Mrs. Goldie Rush of Oklahoma and Mrs. Wanda Green of Sullivan, Ill.; two half-brothers, Ernest Smith of Chicago, and William Smith of Decatur, Ill.; her stepfather, William Smith of Sullivan, and one granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, June 12, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Noah Beadle, pastor of the Covington Assembly of God Church, officiated and burial was in the West Lebanon Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
