RAY, Henry - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington – Funeral services for Henry Ray, age 76, of Danville, Ill brother of Robert Ray of Covington Rt 2 who died Monday Nov 3 were held Wed afternoon, Nov 5 at the Pape Memorial Home. The Rev. Oliver Starn officiated and burial was in the Atherton Cemetery near Danville.  Mr. Ray died at the Vermilion Nursing Home Danville where he had been a patient since Sept 30. He had been in failing health two years. He was born Aug 13, 1893 at Prairie Dale, the son of Julius H. and Ellie Cobb Ray.  He attended the Prairie Dale schools and farmed with his father until they moved to Danville in 1913.  He then worked as a farm laborer and was employed as janitor at Dale’s Tavern in Danville.  He is survived by one brother, Robert Ray of Covington Rt 2. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. – kbz
