RAY, Frances M - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mellott, July 16 – Francis M. Ray died at his home in Mellott Friday morning at 8 o’clock after being seriously ill for 3 months with heart trouble. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was born in Fountain County on Jan 2, 1845 the son of Jefferson and Mary Muford Ray 52 years ago he married Elizabeth Smith who died in 1923. Mr. Ray who was a stock buyer spent his entire life in Fountain County and during the past 30 years had lived in Mellott. He was a member of the Red Mens Lodge. He is survived by one son Charles of Covington and two daughters, Mrs. Clint Hancock of Mellott and Mrs. Pearl Crowder of Danville, Illinois. He has two sisters, Mrs. Lou McAllister of Mellott and Mrs. Mary Minnich of Veedersburg, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held from North Christian Church at Mellott on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. J.E. Fry will be in charge and interment will be made at the Masonic Cemetery.   - kbz
