ATTICA, Ind. — Mrs. Dora E. Ray, 84, a resident of the Riverside community on Attica Route 2 died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 27, 1978) at the Community Hospital in Williamsport. She had been a patient five days. Born Aug. 7, 1894, in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Newton and Melinda Hogstrum Pearson. On June 16, 1920, in Attica, she was married to Walter Ray. He died March 15, 1978. She had resided all her life in the Riverside area, moving five months ago to live with her daughter, Mrs. Robert C. (Lorene) Shatell, on West Lebanon Route 1. She attended Maysville school in Davis Township and the Bethel Church. She was a member of the Riverside Birthday Club. Survivors include two sons, Robert Ray of Attica Route 2 and Delbert Loren (Barney) Ray of Lufkin, Texas; her daughter, Mrs. Shatell; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Floy) Hold of Attica and Mrs. William (Ellen) Troxell of Lafayette; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mable Pearson of Attica Route 2; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild. Services will be at the Maus Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Forrest Stickler officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. --waw
